How to create border art and save to Word?

I have a bitmap that I want to use as a border in Word. I need to know how
to save it as .bdr file that Word will recognize.

I found sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/BorderArt.htm to be helpful in my quest.
It certainly is the "backdoor" to something that could be much simpler. I
wonder when Microsoft will really become "user friendly".

Word is not a graphics application. Some would argue that it's not a desktop
publishing application (but not me). Either you work around these things as
Suzanne provides or you buy a different application more suited to your
needs.
