thank you
If you don't have the Objects toolbar showing, right click on the toolbar
and check it. Then click on Autoshapes and in the drop down list choose Flow
Charts...

Have fun.

I'm not saying it's the best way or even a good one but, in Publisher
2003, I opened a new file. Then I clicked on "autoshapes" button on
toolbar that's down the left hand side (I think it's the "objects"
toolbar). Highlight "FLOWCHART", select your shape, and click on your
work area in your document. Tweak to suit. To join up shapes, I used
the "arrow" symbols on the same toolbar.
Please note this is Publisher 2003. You don't say which version that
you have. Also, my flowchart wasn't a programming one. It was a
medical procedure flowchart. I'm sure there are ways you could
improve on the way I did things though.

David, in addition to the other excellent responses, you could also use the
Insert > Object > Microsoft Graph or Microsoft Excel Graph features for
different charting options that are automated.

Another great application for flow charts is Microsoft Visio if you have it.

How could I forget. I used to use that feature :O(. Now I am a big fan of
Visio's flowcharts. I also like the Gant Charts in Microsoft Project.

I've played with Visio a little. It does make nice charts. Haven't tried
Project yet.
