how to disable DOCX as default format

Hi All,

How do I globally disable DOCx as the default format in Office 2007? I am
tired of having to always do Save As to save the earlier format.

Thanks!

Office button menu, Word Options, Save, change the default save format
there.

Thanks!

Patrick's solution is correct for Word but you will need to perform that
action for each program.

Docx is created by Word. Other programs use other formats. ;-)

Your correct. I read the part about global and thought the OP was
wanted to get rid of the default x format in all of the programs.
My mistake.

Would this need to be set for each profile that logs into Windows?
Or would this setting effect all profiles for everyone who uses this
machine?

Office button menu, Word Options, Save, change thedefaultsaveformat
there.

I'm curious about this as well as I'm in an enviroment where several users
use the same machine and need to disable it for all profiles. Does anyone
have a solution for this? Thanks
