How to disable Publisher

Chris

I do up pamphlets for clients on WORD because none has
PUBLISHER. Now that I've installed OFFICE 2003, none of
my WORD documents with text boxes in them will open in
WORD. They all revert to PUBLISHER. So, I thought if I
disabled PUBLISHER, that perhaps I would once again be
able to open the pamphlets in WORD. Any suggestions?
(I'm on the XP system.) If I save from PUBLISHER to
WORD, I lose my format.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Check your file associations. .doc files should be set to open with
Word.

Just for giggles, I tried setting .docs to open in Publisher, for some
reason, they wouldn't.
