How to get a blank document on opening Word

Each time I open Microsoft Word 2000 as well as Microsoft
Outlook, a particular document appears on the opened
page. I would like to know how this document can be
eliminated from the opened document and the opened/new
document be left w/o it (i.e.: how can I make the opened
document be blank?)
