how to get a cd accepted on the my computer D drive

I have a CD with a powerpoint presentation on it from work, but I can't get
it to play on my laptop at home. Under the icon of 'my computer', I keep
getting the message that the " D:/ drive is not accessible, incorrect
function". What am I doing wrong?
