How to configure Acrobat Distiller to work with Publisher 2007 and with
Publisher 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;826360

Tried to work with recommendations at above 826360 website, but still cannot
convert Publisher file to a pdf.
Am using Office2003 (Publisher) and Adobe Acrobat 5.0 (AA5).
When try to print to a file with Acrobat Distiller it does not offer the
..pdf extension option, and when I manually add the extension onto the file
name it will save the file but AA5 will not load the file.
Think I have closely followed the 826360 'How to...' instructions, except
the instructions do not appear to directly reference AA5 (seem to be geared
more towards AA6).
The other puzzling fact is that my Office Excel 2003 automatically shows the
Adobe file conversion in the menu bar.
Any ideas ?

You don't want to print to a file. If you print to a file, you'll get a
PostScript file you'll have to manually run through Distiller.

Print directly to Distiller as if you were printing to any other
printer. You'll get a Save As dialog that offers the PDF extension.

Thank you for the reply.
When try print to Distiller it shows 'Printing' to 'Port'
C:\Docume~1\akm\LOCALS~1Temp\pubEO.tmp and then after printing for some time,
it changes to 'Deleting - Printing' to 'Port' C:\Documents and
Settings\akm\Desktop\*.pdf, and there ends up no pdf file.
There is no 'Save As' option at the print to Distiller, it just starts
printing.
Ideas ?

In that case, print to file as a .PS file, then load that file into
Distiller and it will output a PDF.
