What version of Outlook?

Did you look under Tools | Options | E-mail options for the AutoComplete
feature?

Outlook 2000 doesn't have AutoComplete. Only Outlook XP (2002) and later.

You do have AutoResolve, which if you to type enough of the e-mail address
to be unique, will match it with an entry in your Outlook Address Book
(Contacts folder and such).
