How to move an object within a group of objects

I have a group of objects which I have assigned a custom action, and I want
to work on one of them without un-grouping so not to loose the custom action
and reconstruct it again, what can I do?

Shady,
Don't think there is a built in way for PPT. You can adjust the fill,
border of a grouped object but, move an object as you seem to suggest in
your subject without ungrouping, don't think so.
Nevertheless there is an add-in that would allow you to do what you want:

I believe you can copy the animation, ungroup, adjust and then reapply the
animation.

You've received some good workaround suggestions.

I just wanted to add that you can move (and otherwise work with) objects
within a group of objects in PPT 2007. You can't do this in previous
versions.
