How to save Word 2003 docs to Word 2000 format by default

Andrey

Hi all!
We have MS Office 2003 and, by specific means, want all doc files (from Word
2003) to be automatically saved by default in Word 2000 format - how to
accomplish this?

Thank you in advance!

When you save a Word 2003 document you are already saving it in a Word
2000 file format. The file format has not changed since Word 97.

Now, they did change the behavior of some features between the
versions so if you want to create documents with Compatibility
Settings for Word 2000 then go to Tools/Options/Compatibility and
under "Recommended options" select "Word 2000". To set this as the
default for new documents click the "Default" command at the bottom.
