How to Turn off Format Publication Pane in Publisher 2007

Every time I start up Publisher 2007, or open a saved or new publication,
the Format Publication Pane opens up.

I have tried everything I can find to turn it off, but it keeps coming back,
Help!!

How can I make it go away for "good?"

It seems to have been one of the "improvements" that you have paid dearly
for. I get to sit and listen to the new searchindexer.exe run for hours on
end...

Maybe someone will come along with an answer.

Like you, I have tried everything... It is a tear-off menu, you can re-size it
to very small. Drag it a less obtrusive place on the screen. It will be there
the next time you open Publisher.
