How to use and send "recording" using onenote?

Hi
I've tried to make a recording of myself using onenote and could not send it
via email.

Does anybody know how it actually works and where the actual "recording
file" is stored once it is recorded.

When I recorded it and tried to send it directly from the "note", it was
sent but there was no recording file attached.

What application does the recipient need in order to listen/open the file?
