HTML size

I created a document in publisher and saved it as a web page to get it in an
HTML file. The file is too large and I need to reduce the size. Is there
anything that I can do? It's at over 200 kb and needs to be less than 31 kb.
Pictures don't matter, I guess, they are hosted on a different server.

Which version of Publisher are you using? What specific steps did you take
to produce the HTML output? Does the page have any images inserted into the
page, or all of them imported from the different server? Why does the page
need to be less than 31 kb? How are you planning on using the HTML?

In the future it is best to post web questions in:
microsoft.public.publisher.webdesign

If you have big (high resolution) pictures they still have to open, no
matter where they're coming from and if someone has dialup (like I still do)
this makes it slow.

When I put on picrtures, I use ones that are saved at 72 resolution
and usually 8" wide (smaller if I use a table with them side by side)

The actual page (html) shouldn't be very big, because it only links
(calls for) the pictures from wherever they are. I don't think it matters
what size the font is, since this is called from the person viewing it's own
computer.

I was looking at some of the webpages I have saved (that are uploaded)
some have a lot on them, mainly pictures, and they are from 500 bytes to the
most 4 kb If you have too much on a webpage, maybe it should go onto a
page 2.

But... I know nothing about using Publisher for HTML and making
webpages. Maybe it (somehow) embeds the pictures right in the page and this
adds size.

I think I will check out the Publisher web design group, it might
be interesting.

Something new to learn about.
