Hyperlink & Mail Merge Fields Appear Incorrectly

I'm using Word 2000 and my hyperlinks and mail merge address label
fields don't display correctly. I'm sure it's some option or setting
that has been changed, but I just can't seem to find it.

First, when I type a hyperlink (in a normal non-mail merge document),
say www.msn.com, as soon as I complete typing it, it suddenly gets
displayed as "{HYPERLINK "http://www.msn.com"}". I was finally able
to get it to show as just www.msn.com by highlighting it and right
clicking on it and selecting "Toggle Field Codes".

A similar problem is occurring in a mail merge document I use to print
out addresses on envelopes. I have fields call NAME, ADDRESS1,
ADDRESS2, etc. When I view the envelope, instead of showing the
person's name and address I only see:
{MERGEFIELD NAME}
{MERGEFIELD ADDRESS1}
{MERGEFIELD ADDRESS2}
Again, if I highlight and right click "Toggle Field Codes", the actual
name and address appears. However, if I move to the next person, the
display problems occur once again on all the records. When I go to
print preview, the name and address are correctly displayed.

I never had these problems before so I'm just guessing that I
inadvertently changed the option that controls how these are
displayed. If anyone knows what I can do to make these display
properly without having to select "Toggle Field Codes" every time,
please let me know.

Thanks,
Tim
