Hyperlinks to documents and presentations from Webpage

Professor Ann

I am working on a class project in which I have to design a web page. I did
this in Publisher 2007. There are several hyperlinks on my webpage parts of
the project -- word documents, power point presentation, multimedia
presentation. They all work on my computer, but when one goes to my web site
-- www.professorannsmathhelp.com -- they do not work. I believe this is
because the links are actually to files on my hard drive.

My questions are -- how do I save the files so they are accessable from the
webpage? How do I link them to the webpage?

thank you

The files you want to make available need to be on your website server;
you'll need to upload them.

It is better if the files are in their own folder, i.e., downloads

Note: It is better that there are no uppercase letters or spaces in the file
names. You can use the underscore in place of a space.

Step one: create the folder downloads on the server.
Step two: upload the files into the downloads folder.

Rewrite the hyperlinks to read

http://www.professorannsmathhelp.com/downloads/filename.fileextension

For instance you have algebra test file named algebratest.pdf it would read

http://www.professorannsmathhelp.com/downloads/algabratest.pdf

Upload the new website files and it should be good.
