I cannot click onto autoshapes in microsoft wordsl

I just downloaded microsoft office so i could get ,Words, and went to the
insert toolbar went down to autoshapes and could not click onto it ....Why??

There are two ways to insert AutoShapes in Word.

1. If you display the drawing toolbar, you can click on the AutoShapes
button, then select a category and then a shape.

2. If you choose AutoShapes from the Insert menu, you get a small floating
toolbar that offers a palette of the same categories.
