i have several computers, can I copy the office edition to them

I have a home computer and 4 offices do I have to get the new office edition
for each computer to upgrade?

The answer depends on what version of Office you have. You can read the
End User License Agreement that applies to your copy of Office by
starting Word, then clicking on Help | Microsoft Word Help | Contents
tab | click on the + next to "Microsoft Word Help" to expand the topic,
and select "End User License Agreement" from the list of topics. In the
EULA, there will be a section entitled "General License Grant to Install
and Use" that says how many computers (and what types of computers) you
can install your copy of Office on.

if you qualify for the student teacher edition, it can be activated on 3
computers

One of the licensing restrictions for Office 2003 Students and Teachers
Edition is that it cannot be used for commercial purposes. A person
with "a home computer and 4 offices" is probably using MS Office for a
commercial purpose.
