All of my e-mails that had been saved for years no longer appear in my inbox.
Where did they go?

First, although upgrading Office should not move/delete/hide your data
a'tall, you should always make backups of your data before running an
upgrade. In fact, you should be backing up all your data regularly to begin
with.
Second: Check your view settings on your inbox to make sure you aren't
filtering anything. Look in the lower left-hand corner of Outlook when
clicked on Inbox, and see if it says "filter applied".
Third: Search your hard drive for *.pst - include hidden/system folders in
your search if on 2k/XP.

Thanks for your response. Actually, I found that when I click on
Start/Programs/Outlook Express. all of my old e-mails appear there. Is there
any easy way to move them to the "new" Outlook e-mail box?

Were you using Outlook Express before?

Launch Outlook once to set up a profile with your mail account settings.
Close Outlook.
Use file | export in Outlook Express and export to Outlook.
