Is there a Task Bar in Office 2003 one can use?
A lot of people miss it, but Gates and Crew decided on your behalf that you
didn't want it...oh you did, toooo baaad! Seriously if you are reasonably PC
literate you can install the Shortcut bar from your old version of Office. Just
run the setup program and uncheck EVERYTHING EXCEPT the Shortcut Bar.

I built up an aversion to the bar during my time with Win 98.. Office
programs were all visible on the regular Start menu, accessible via the keys
on the keyboard between CTRL and ALT or mouse clicks, and did not use up
system resources, against a bar that more or less replicated the Start menu
and at the same time contributed to Windows crashing out..

I accept that XP does not have the same resource problems as Win 98, but one
can get used to not having the facility easy enough..
