I need help. Office Error issue.

Hello I have a problem which I can not solve.
Yesterday I uninstalled Norton Antivirus. After that there was a power
failure and the pc went black. Then I had problems with my windowsXP also. I
repaired the windows xp through my cd but I have one problem with office.
Whenever I click on any office file I get a Windows Installer message which
says: "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-Rom or other removable
disk that is not available" "Insert the Norton antivirus 2005 disk and click
OK". "user source: [PRODUCT NAME] [LABEL]
Even after fixing WinXP this problem remains. I had a register scan with the
"registry mechanic program" and there is nothing that has to do with Norton
there. I am not sure if this problem has something to do with the power
failure or with the uninstall of Norton antivirus. But the problem exists.
When I get that Window Installer message after clicking on an office file,
after clicking "Cancel" for 3-4 times the file finally opens.

If I create a new office file now and I try to open it later I get a Windows
Installer message that says "Preparing to install".
Please help me because I have no idea what to do and I am desperate.
I have office2003 professional.

Norton Strikes again

Re-install your Norton and then go to Symantec site and look for the directions on how to remove it correctly and completely. You probably have some left over's in you Registry
