I need help with a merge and document protection

I got a probalem.... I have a merged document that has pulldown menu
that require the application to be protected. The probalm with that i
that once the document is protected I no longer can go to the nex
record.

Any help will be appriciated

Forms protection and mail merge are, by design, simply not compatible.
The document must be unprotected in order to execute the mail merge.
Note, also, that it really doesn't matter whether you can move to the
next record or not: whatever you'd select in the drop down would apply to
ALL records, once the merge is executed.
