I need to change the direction of my text in Microsoft word .

I am trying to rotate the direction of my text in Microsoft word Office. I
understand that I need to go to Format and then Text Direction but when I do
the Text Direction is 'grayed out' and I am unable to use the button.

Any help?

Use "Insert", "Text Box" first.
