I try to delete a task and Project stops responding

I have a project with 1200 rows, some task assignments, and some dependencies
(some are external). However, when I try to delete a task with just 1
internal dependency, MSP just hangs. Has anyone experienced this?

It could be corruption - you could try the suggestions in FAQ Item: 43.
File Bloat? - Might be Corruption.
