any easy fixes or does every file have to be saved as a particular version?
Can I read any newer version files using 2000?

If you think about it, how can an older version open files that are done
with updated versions? Things change - that's why there are newer versions.
If they knew what those changes were going to be, they probably would have
incorporated them into 2000. :)
