I want to convert all Star office docs to Word docs

Sure. Use StarOffice or OpenOffice to open the StarOffice files and
save them in MSFT Office formats. Both SO and OO have scripting
capabilities, so this could be automated. If you were expecting
something from Microsoft to do this, pound sand.

I have though of this and I thank you very much for your response. I am
wondering if i uninstall my Star office program if I will lose any
unformatted docs. Do you have any idea?

Unformatted?

Generally uninstalling software only removes executable and configuration
files, and leaves any other files as-is. I'd be very surprised if
StarOffice/OpenOffice didn't behave this way.

That said, the surest way to ensure you don't lose any data files when you
install or uninstall software or do anything else on a computer is to make
backups of those files on some form of removable media. If you burn these
files onto a CD-R, uninstalling SO/OO won't have any effect on the files
saved on the CD-R.
