If Timesheets are used, do they have to be approved before taskupdate submittal in My Tasks?

Just curious if the timesheet approval process is something that would
hold up importing timesheet data into My Tasks and then submit on to
the Project Manager for task update approval.

There is no requirement for timesheets to be approved first before the user
can import them into My Tasks and submit to the PM. The issue could be if
they submit their time to the RM and the PM and the RM rejects the
timesheet. Then any changes to the Timesheet that affects project hours
would need to be re-imported and re-submitted to the PM. Its a process
issue.
