Import from Excel into Outlook

I had a distribution list that I saved as a text then imported into Excel and
saved as a workbook. I then tried to import into Outlook and I get the error
that my file has no named ranges. What do I do to get this??

Add a named range to the worksheet. Select all the data, choose Insert |
Name | Define.

Now it says file is not recognized. Excel translator unable to translate.
What next?

A really simple solution to this is to save your worksheet as a CSV file and
import that file into Outlook. Just make sure that the first row has all the
field(column) names for all the subsequent rows. This is a generic method
given that you didn't state your version of Outlook and Excel and avoids all
the corresponding issues in terms of file versions, installed filters etc.
