IMPORT question

R

Rich Drees

Had a problem with my hard drive and had to reformat the
whole magilla. I made a back up copy of my web on CD and
tried to copy ot back into the HD but have encountered
some problems when I go to edit it now. (Shared Boarders
have disappeared, error that states "server extensions
unable to access file 'C:\My Documents\My
Webs\_vti_pvi\service.lck")

Is there a way to just import/copy my website back into my
hard drive?

Thanks!

The import function only imports what is seen by a browser, so shared
borders, include files, navigation structure, themes, asp pages, databases,
etc. are not imported.

Your best bet is to open your online web via FP and publish back to your
computer.

If you copied your entire web to a CD it is read only
- when you copy it back to your hard disc you need to remove read only attributes form ALL files and folders (including hidden
system folders)
