You're not alone. It also happens when I try to link to
Excel tables. Here's what's happened to me...
When I either try to import or link to a table, I receive
the message whose banner is: "MS Office Access can't find
the wizard. This wizard has not been installed, or there
is an incorrect setting in the Windows Registry, or this
wizard has been disabled." It suggests going to a subset
of the Help menu to see what items have been disabled.
When I look at the "Disabled Items" box, it tells
me "There are no disabled items." This isn't surprising,
because I did a full install (not just a recommended one).
Aaargh...
