Import wizard problem

Hi All,

I'm trying to import data frm excel using the "import wizard" option,
to map the MS Project Field with the MS Excel Column...

I don't know why, but there is a problem...

I'd like to import:

- Task Name
- Duration
- Work
- Task QTY (enterprise custom field)
- Units (enterprise custom field)\

I can easy import Task Name, Duration and Work, but I'm not able to
import Task QTY and units...

when I use the wizard, it seems to be everything OK... no error
messages...

but the fields are empty...

why???

for example, Task QTY is a number (in the project side) and the column
in excel is a number too...

units is a look un table in MS Project, and in Excel there are the
same value...

the Fields should be visible in the gantt view???

what can be the problem???

Hi Vit

When you are importing data from MS Project to Excel it is advisable to
create a new Map in the wizard.

In the new map you can enlist all required columns including the custom
columns Task Qty and Units

This will ensure that the custom columns also appear in Excel

I'm trying to do the opposit... from excel to project...

I have alteady map the field and the column, but the data isnot
imported... why???

When mapping the fields are you choosing the correct data type like number,
text ....
What version of MS Project are you using?
