Importing into MS Word

Jim Jones

Some help for a novice!

How can I import a page of a Publisher (2003) document into a MS Word (2003)
document?

I have access to Acrobat 5.0, if that's relevant.

Thanks for any help.

Can you tell us why you want to do this? We might be able to provide
appropriate suggestions if you do

I take it you do mean the full version of Acrobat, not the reader?
Is it on the same machine as your installation of Publisher 2003?

Do you mean you want to be able to edit the entire document in Word? If so,
can't be done. You lose all of your formatting and graphics.

DO you mean you want to be able to edit a story and then put it back in
Publisher? If so, Edit|Edit Story in Microsoft Word.

And whether you have Acrobat or not, doesn't matter in this case.

Message for Ed Bennett and JoAnn Paules

Many thanks for your responses and for the offer of help.

I am producing some guidance notes for teachers (it's all about school
examinations in Botswana) and, as you would expect, I am using MS Word to do
so. However, I want to add a number of appendices some of which are in
Publisher format.

I mentioned Acrobat 5.0 because I thought that perhaps a conversion from
Publisher to PDF before importing to Word might be possible. The Acrobat I
have is the full version and it's on my PC.

Thanks again

Right. I would suggest converting both the Publisher and Word files to PDF,
and merging them in Acrobat. Then you can distribute the PDF files to your
teachers, and they can be opened in Adobe Reader.
