Importing question

I'm using Publisher to make an award for a science fair. I have all the
names of the students (215) participating in Excel listed by the headings
Last Name, First Name. I want to create an award that has their name it. Is
there a way I can import the names in Excel into the Publisher address
manager? Then I'd be able to mail merge. I've tried several times, but it's
not letting me. I tried saving the Excel file as a .csv file as well, no
luck. Any suggestions? Thanks so much.

You don't need to import the names into the Publisher address manager to use
them as a mail merge data source.
When you are prompted by Publisher for your data source, click Browse, and
locate your CSV file
