In Project, customize report layout re: wrapping fields?

I'd like to be able to fix report layout problems in Project 2003. I'm used
to using Access and setting up my own reports. I'm hoping to be able to
output these to Word or Excel so the data can be communicated to the
non-Project running world. Can you export a filtered result to Excel?
There seem to be a lot of templated options, but none of them are flexible
and inclusive enough for my use.

Hi Chelyngar,

As you have discovered, MS Project does not have the readily accessible
report writing features that Access does. However, you may export the data
to Excel using the File>Save As command and selecting an Excel Worksheet as
the file type. Once the export Wizard starts , select to export "Selected
data" and use either an existing export map or create a new export map. As
part of either an existing map or a new map, you may apply a filter as part
of the export. If one of the existing filters does not work for your needs,
create a new filter. (Project> Filtered For> New). You may also create a
custom table to base the export on and select that table using the "Base On
Table" button in the export map definition.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Julie
