Include weekends as work days?

Hi

New to project 2007 ! I'm trying to figure out how you include weekends as
normal working day so i havea 7 day working week, does anyone know how i can
change this?

Hello Huggy,

Go to Tools > Change Working Time, select the Project calendar you are
using if necessary. Toward the bottom of the Change Working Time dialog
box, click the Work Weeks tab. Click the Details... button to show the
Details dialog box. Under the Select Days section, click Sunday to
select it, press and hold down the CTRL key and select Saturday. Both
Sunday and Saturday should be selected (blue). Click the option "Set
days to these specific working times" and enter the start time and end
times as you need. (For example to mimic the standard time for Monday
through Friday --
From 8:00 am To 12:00 pm
From 1:00 pm To 5:00 pm

Click OK to close the Details dialog box. Click OK to close the Change
Working Time dialog box.

Be careful - are you saying that the resources will work without any days
off at all for the entire duration of the project? A project calendar that
shows a 7 day work week means exactly that, that work on each and every task
will proceeds every day from start to finish. If it's a 2 week task, it
proceeds 2 weeks solid without interruption. But that's usually not the
case. Your firm may work 7 days a week but that's another matter. A task
is typically asssigned to 1 resource or a resource team who work together as
a unit and at least in North America the law requires you to let people have
a certain amount of time off each week. The project calendar should show
the work pattern of a "typical" task and that means the work pattern of a
typical generic resource. If I have a task that will take 3 weeks and put
Joe on it, he won't work 7 days a week until its done, he will normally work
5 days, then the task will stop for his 2 days off, then pick up again for
another 5 days, then stop for 2 days, then pick up again for another 5 and
so forth. Even if it's a team, they work together and have their days off
at the same time. That means the calendar is a 5 day week, not a 7 day
week.
