Inconsistent timescale view between hours & minutes in 2003

K

Kiron D. Bondale

Hi there -

I've set my calendar options to have an 8 AM - 4:30 PM day, set my hours in
a day to 7.5, and modified my standard calendar to have all weekdays be from
8-12, 1-4:30 to match the 7.5 hours in a day setting.

If I create a one day task, in the Gantt Chart view, when the timescale is
set to show days & hours, the task shows as running from 8 - 5 PM. When I
switch to hours & minutes, the task shows (correctly) as running from 8 -
4:30 PM.

I have updated my version of Project to SP2.

Any ideas what might be going on, or is this a known bug?

Thanks!

Kiron

Kiron,

Project is simply rounding the display of the bar to what it thinks is an
appropriate interval. You can see the same behavior at other scales (months
for example).
Nothing to worry about. Display the duration column or edit the barstyle to
show the duration along side it if you want more detail.

Hi Kiron,

You may also get a Gantt bar look that better suits you by going to Format >
Layout and uncheck the option for "Round bars to whole days".

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
