Indenting while Importing Tasks

I have imported hierarchically indented tasks from Excel. MS project has not
identified automatically the tasks which were imported indented as
Milestones, tasks, subtasks etc. Is there a way to automatically recognize
the indented tasks ?

In your Excel spreadsheet, include a column called Outline Level that
describes the level of indent for each task. For example, Phases might be
Outline Level 1, Deliverables might be Outline Level 2, and subtasks might
be at Outline Level 3. When you import the Excel spreadsheet, you can match
the Outline Level column in Excel with the same-named column in Microsoft
Project. Hope this helps.
