Insert .hpg graphics in Word

Pirke

Hi All,

Hope someone can help me.

I know of a graphic filter for hpg-files for word97
But I can't find anything about this for WordXP

Is it possible to insert .hpg graphic files into a WordXP
document, and if so, how?

Thanks, peter

Hi Pirke,

The filter for HPGL files (.HPL and .PLT), no longer supported
by MS, is still available here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;196506&FR=1
It unzips to a folder of your choice. The readme.txt file
has instructions for setting it up.

Turn on [x] Confirm Conversions on Open in Word
in Tools=>Options=>General when first using it.
Word 2002 and up use a different graphics rendering
engine internally than earlier versions and your
success with this filter may not be 100%.

Bob,

Thanks for this,
You're sure it also works (most of the time) with WordXP? (because this
is not mentioned in the article you linked to, probably that's also the
reason I didn't find it when searching the KnowledgeBase)

I don't know yet if it works for me, because I have to test (and test
it with other user)
but it looks good in theory.

I'll try to test today (or tomorrow) and let you know.

Again, thanks so far!

Pirke
