"Insert Project" defaults to wrong values

I have a project file which is a combination of ten other Projects
which have been inserted.

When I open this consolidated view, then all these sub projects appear
on the gantt cart to have started on 2003-01-01, even though the Start
Date say 2006-01-01.

The minute I show all levels, then it corrects itself to show
2006-01-01 in the Gantt chart.

Can I not make this permanent? I want to open the master file and see
everything as it is now.

What is the Project Start Date (Project/Project Information) of the
master file? It should be 2006-01-01 - my guess is that it is probably
set to 2003-01-01.

Hi,

When I save a master with the subs open, when I re-open the master the subs
are open.
