Insert text and have it also appear in another location?

I set up a letter template for my office and where I want to insert the date,
recipient, text, etc., I inserted macrobuttons(I guess that's what they are;
I copied them from another template), where you just click it and you can
type. Is there a way to click where I want the recipient, type the
recipient's name and then have it automatically be inserted in the 2nd page
header?

Rather than use macro buttons for that purpose, I would create a userform
and use a cross reference to the bookmark into which the code inserts the
text.

See the article "How to create a Userform" at:

http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Userforms/CreateAUserForm.htm

Alternatively, instead of using bookmarks, use document variables and
DocVariable fields.
