I have insert a column from the list of available columns called "Status
Manager". However, when I try to type in it, I cannot move to another
field or do anything in the project until I delet the text that I typed.

That column can be used only when connected to Project Server and you can
only pick values already there, not insert anything new.

Hope this helps,
Fabrizio.

The information in the status manager column is defined by the person owning
the project. If i create a project i become the status manager (owner
basically) for that project. The person who is the status manager will also
be responsible for approving task updates submitted by team members from the
My Tasks page. If you would like someone elses name to appear in the status
manager column (perhaps to have then approve a certain set of tasks) you will
need to edit the project properties in PWA. Follow these steps. 1 Open PWA. 2
Naviagte the the Project Center. 3 highlight the project. 4 Click the Edit
Project Properties button. 5 change the name of the project owner. 6 Click
the save and publish button and then the cancel button. This is where it now
gets tricky - you have just changed the ownership of the project to someone
else, which means that you might not be able to open it (depending on how you
have defined the securities). That person will need to open the project and
change at least one task to reflect them as the status manager. Repeat the
steps above to make yourself the owner of the project again and you will now
have two names available in the Status Manager column. Strange, but that is
how it works. It is easy to do if you are the administrator, but depending on
how the security templates have been defined you might have some problems
changing the properties of the project. Hope this helps.
