I have a GLOBAL project sheet with those sub-projects linked so that wa
I can update the projects as I get more information in on them.

1. I have created (3) sub-projects and need to import them into th
global one....File open>"Global File" now with it open I click Fil
open>find project click open> I choose Do not open shared resources
Than with it inserted into the global project. It auto indents. (>.<
now instead of having 2 projects I still have one (>.<) So how do I ad
a project into the global project sheet?

SCENARIO ONE

Scenario 2 is the same except i roll up Colchester and than iinsert th
YALE-UHSC and it's still indented but does not add to Colchester'
hrs/days etc... and I save it and reopen it and scrolling up the scree
in the gant chart it adds itself as an addtional task in the GLOBA
project.

2. What can I do to insert a project to another project without addin
to other projects hrs/days etc...

Any help would be highly/extreamly appreciate

This is called a Master Project with Subproject files. Using the term
"Global" may be confusing because there is a file named Global.mpt that is
very important to Proeject (just a note).

Start with a blank project file.
Insert/Project....

When you select the file to insert, you can deslect the check box to link
(or not link) the project files. If you uncheck the box a copy of the file
is inserted to the master project file.

Close up the inserted file by clicking the small "+" sign on the first line
of the project.

Insert the second file in the same way. If it is indented under Project1,
then use the < (outdent green arrow) to outdent the project.

If the files are outdented to the same level, their costs will stay separate.

Hmmm not necessarily the answer I wanted but i did take your advice an
just created another project renamed it Masta and inserted the projects
I guess I can just delete the other project file than :-D

But for upcoming jobs that my company gets will I have to create a ne
master sheet each time? Or do I just click on a task row and use th
insert project button?

Than that would mean my first post still wasn't solved if I cannot ad
projects to a Master Project File.

Just to clarify better because I left work thinking about how to solv
it.....

1. I have multiple(40+ or so w 6 sub-tasks each) Sub-projects in
master project file all linked.

2. I go to insert a project at the bottom of the list and it adds tha
project as sub-tasks to the last project on the bottom of the list. Se
links below to see what happened...

3. How do I insert sub-projects into the master project file without i
indenting....also the outdent button says You are already as far as th
outdent will allow(something to that affect.
