Inserting Text "where I want it" help

Hello,
How do I Insert a "Table" or "cell" exactly where I want it in Front
page
2003. The Table or Cell is always automatically generated and put
whereever it wants to be put, and not where I want the table, and I need it
in certain places on my website. Also the Table is not able to be "moved"
or "grabbed with handles" and put where you want it. Layers are good, but
sometimes I need a Table or Cell
where I want it. Can you explain how to put a Table or Cell and Text
"exactly" where I want it on my website. Thanks, Susu

FrontPage inserts tables exactly at the "insertion point "you have selected
with the mouse.
( where the mouse cursor is )

So, make sure you click the page with the mouse "exactly" where you want the
table to be and then select Insert > Table.

Hello Steve,
Thankyou for your reply, but that is the problem usually I can insert
a table or cell next to an insertion point that looks like a little "$"
sign or similar, but
they are usually over on the left, but what if I want to put a table or
cell in the middle of another table or over by the right somewhere or on the
bottom center, there are
no insertion points there, the mouse won't let me insert, and I cannot
make an insertion point with the mouse. How can I make an "insertion" point
where I want it anywhere on my web page. Thanks, Susu

For alignment, right click in your new table and select table properties.
The set the alignment to Left, or Right, or Center as needed.

See - this is where a little HTML knowledge comes in handy. According to
HTML's rules, all block tags are always aligned with the left margin of
their containers. That means if you are working on a new page, and you want
to put a table, a paragraph, or a div on that page, it will always be smack
against the left margin. You can't just make it sit out in space somewhere
without some additional work.

Where is it you are wanting to put your table?

Hi Steve and Murray,

I've already created my website first page, and now I am editing it,
and trying to squeeze Text into little places here and there on the page,
but more often than not there are not many of those "insertion points" on
my page where I can put my cursor on and type some text. So now it gets
difficult I have to create a table, but I cannot move the table around where
I want it, and sometimes there is no insertion point at the exact place I
want to put the table. So I have been trying to figure out how to squeeze in
text in the nooks and crannies where I want them. Can you tell me the
advantages and disadvantages of using "Layers" rather than Tables ? It seems
that layers can be moved around quite easily in any place I want the text. So
What is the disadvantage of using a "Layer" ? Thanks a great deal !! Susu

At this point, the practical advice to you is to forget that layers even
exist. Their apparent ease of use is offset by a huge disadvantage of how
they interact with other page elements. In the worst case, resizing your
page's text content will lead to a big overlapping and unreadable mess.

I'm afraid that there is no simple answer to your quandry. I suggest you
spend a few days reading about HTML and how it works before tackling this
issue....
