Insertion or Deletion in a Linked Table?

Sir/ Madam,

I have a document file containing linked table with MS-
Excel. I want some insertions/ deletions in this linked
table without making amendment in MS-Excel.

How can I preserve the insertions/ deletions in this
table. I want to update link also.

You can't. The link precludes being able to make additions
or deletions to the data being linked in.

Closest you could come would be a macro that would restore
whatever you've changed after you update the link.
