Installing Office 2003 and Office 3007

Hey Guys,
Gotta questions please.
I have two systems running Office 2003 and Office 2007
the frist one:
I installed Office 2007 First
and then 2003,
and each is in a seperate folder
c:\program files\microsoft office
c:\program files\microsoft office_2k3
..

The Second one:
I installed Office 2003 First
and then 2007
and both are in the same folder
c:\program files\microsoft office

All applications seemed to work just fine, except for a minor problem
that is actually annoying.
If i open Microsoft Word or Access either version, will run a
configuration process. I have to wait for it.
When its done, I close the program, then open it again and will not
launch the configuration process again.
But when i run the opposite version it will run the config process
again, then when i close it, and open the first version again it will
run the config process once again.

For example:
If I launch Word 2003, It will run an installation process
"Configuring Microsoft Office 2003".
I will wait for it to finish, then Word 2003 will load fine.
If I close Word 2003 and open it again, it will run without executing
the config process again.
But if i run Word 2007, the config process for Office 2007 will run
too.
After its done, i close Word 2007 and open it again, and nothing
happens.
But if i open Word 2003 for the third time it will run the config
process again.

Its like it is reseting or deleting the configuration settings for
each others when they run.
I tried that on both of the machines and did the same thing.

I tried updating both with the latest Windows and Office updates but
they still did the same issue.

Anybody had this, or knows how to fix it?

Thanks in advance,

Best Regards

Office 2003 & 2007 will install by default to a version specific folder, so
no need to custom install - other than only installing a single instance of
OL

You should install earliest first, update before installing later version.
You may have to amend shortcuts on the first installation eg Word03 rather
than plain Word
