Installing Office 2003

Gordon

I've got several copies of Office 2003 Pro, as a result of purchasing various
computers loaded with Office. Now, on one of my computers, I've removed
Office because of a virus and I'm trying to reinstall it. However, I've
mixed up the product IDs and don't know which one goes with which Office CD.
Is the product ID specific to each copy of Office? If so, what can I do
about this?

Thanks,
Gordon

hi Gordon.
I've had to recreate everything after data disasters on a couple different
computers with different versions of Office on each computer. My heart goes
out to ya.

Yes, the Product Keys (or IDs) are specific to each Office package, to
thwart software pirating. It kinda sounds like you'll have to try each of
the Prod Keys, till ya get it right. At least it won't lock you out.

Sorry. Maybe someone else has an easier fix.

No, but...
An inventory (saved locally and a print backup) of key codes (for Windows
and Office)installed for each would be very helpful at this point. If the
software was oem, it is specific per machine originally installed on.
