Installing Office XP on New Machine: Old Machine/Upgraade Path Dead as Doornail

Russ

I am reinstalling Office XP on a new computer.

My old computer with the previous version of Office is
way gone, dead.

I do not have the ancient disks required to reinstall my
original version of Office. I do have upgrades for
Office 2000 and Office XP.

Before I get flamed for not having some moldy discs, I
have moved many times and much of my older software got
lost in the shuffle.

Is there any way to get Microsoft to ge my Office XP on
my new machine.

Many thanks,

Russ

Russ,
In order to use your upgrade Office cd's, either 2000 or XP you will need to show a qualifying Office product (original installation) to the upgrade you want to install.
You may try this:
If your original version was not an oem Office product you could slave your old drive to your new machine and then upgrade from there.
