Installing Project Server 2002 - "Installation ended prematurely because of an error"!

I am attempting to install Project Server 2002 on a WIN2K SP4 box with IIS
on it. I installed SharePoint Services on that machine as well. It is
connecting to another box with SQL Server 2000 on it.

I seemed to have no problem with the installation as far as the SharePoint
part of the install went. I got it to connect to the SQL Server database and
do everything else just fine. I took down all the parameters (admin. port
and so on) and then proceeded to install Project Server. It takes all my
data, does all the authentication, and starts to install.

A while into the install, it starts to rollback all the steps and then gives
me the error msg - "Installation ended prematurely because of an error".

I installed a hotfix based on an article I found in the Microsoft
knowledge-base that talks about problems with SP3 - assuming that the
problem has not yet been fixed in SP4.

That did not fix it. I then proceeded to install only the Decision Support
Objects and client tools part of Analysis Services (SQL Server 2000)
following advice from another article in the Microsoft KB. That did not fix
it, either.

Can someone, anyone, please help me. I am at my wits end. I have already
spent an entire day working on this problem and nobody else at work seems to
understand why an install is taking me sooo long!

If the version oif Team Services is 2.0, it does not work
with Project Server. You must use 1.0 with Project
Server 2002.
