Installing updates when have different versions of Office products

I use Office 2000 for Excel, Word and Powerpoint. But earlier this year
I upgraded to Outlook 2003. Is it safe for me to install the various
service packs listed for Office 2003 when I run 2000 for some
applications, too? Is it OK to also install updates for my 2000
products, too? Is it ok to just allow the Microsoft Office Update web
site to install the updates it prescribes? I want to keep all my
software updated and need to install the latest service pack for
Outlook, but don't want to accidentally cause a problem. Thanks in
advance.

Hi, GSN,

The Office Update site should be able to figure out what it needs, even with
multiple versions installed. Just ensure you have the original installation
media for Office 2000 when updating, because you'll need to provide it.

Hope that helps,
