Integrating Outlook 2003 and Word and Excel 2002

I currently have Office XP on my computer. I recently
purchased and installed Outlook 2003 not seeing the need
for the other Office 2003 applications. I've had multiple
problems with the integration of Outlook 2003 with Word
2002 and Excel 2002. Has anyone had a similar problem and
if so, is there a solution? Thanks

No solution. If you want to use Word with Outlook 2003 then you need to use Word 2003. The same issue occured with Outlook 2002 aka Outlook XP. Although you can have different versions of the Microsoft Office products on the same system, applications such as Outllook will not work correctly with Word as your editor and where Word is a different version than that of Outlook.

I have found the possible solution to the problem. If you have Norton Antivirus 2003 installed read the Microsoft KnowledgeBase item listed here

(just cut and paste this address into your address field.)


It states when your turn off the Norton AV plug-in you will again have use of Word as your Outlook editor. IT WORKS
