Internet Explorer Settings get lost

Why is it that settings for Internet Explorer does not stick?
I click on Internet options, select a home page, click on apply, and exit.
The next 4 or 5 times, when I open Internet Explorer, I am taken to the
selected home page. Be sure, the next time I go in, I end up with a blank
page. Why?

IE is not a part of Office. Perhaps if you posted your question in the
applicable newsgroups, one of those fine folks could help you.

Have a peep at MS Support here, clicking the link will open it in a
new Window. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291852 It might help, not
having used Explorer for 'yonks' I've never had first hand experience
of this problem. I use Firefox which is a lot less hassle and much
quicker.

It might help in getting a response if you stated which version of
Explorer you are using and Service Pack version if any.
